Chamber Music Concert
Experience the GVO in a new and more intimate way on the afternoon of Sunday, March 2, 2014 at our first chamber music concert. The lively and varied program showcases every section of the orchestra, beginning with fanfares from the trombone section and ending with a bang as timpanist Gerard Gordon performs in Henry Cowell’s Set of Five for percussion, violin and piano. Strings and winds also step up, as flutist Sophia Saunders-Jones shows off her diva tendencies in a Carmen fantasy, and the strings offer a classic quartet by Mozart and a trio by the should-be-better-known 18th Century Italian Alessandro Rolla.
